In 2023, The Publishing Triangle began awarding the Publishing Triangle Torchbearer Award, which is presented to a non-publishing entity with a connection to the literary world. The first Torchbearer Award was presented to Drag Story Hour NYC. Providing storytelling and creative arts programs for children and teens, Drag Queen Story Hour NYC is presented by local drag artists, in libraries, schools, and other community spaces in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as virtually. The recipient of the award receives $1000.
