Celebrating Excellence in LGBTQ+ Literature

Join us for the 38th Annual Publishing Triangle Awards, honoring the most outstanding LGBTQ+ books published in 2025. This landmark event brings together writers, editors, agents, publishers, and readers for an evening recognizing achievement across the breadth of LGBTQ+ literature.

The ceremony will be hosted by Emanuel Xavier and will be followed by a reception.


Award Categories

The Publishing Triangle presents awards in the following categories:

  • Judy Grahn Award for Lesbian Nonfiction

  • Randy Shilts Award for Gay Nonfiction

  • Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry

  • Thom Gunn Award for Gay Poetry

  • Joseph Hansen Award for LGBTQ+ Crime Writing

  • Jacqueline Woodson Award for LGBTQ+ Children’s and Young Adult Literature

  • Leslie Feinberg Award for Trans and Gender-Variant Literature

  • Amber Hollibaugh Award for LGBTQ+ Social Justice Writing

  • Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction

  • Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBTQ+ Fiction


Special Awards

We will also present the organization’s distinguished honors:

  • Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement

  • Michele Karlsberg Leadership Award

  • Betty Berzon Emerging Writer Award

  • Publishing Triangle Torchbearer Award

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

About The Publishing Triangle

Founded in 1988, the Publishing Triangle presented its first awards in 1989 and has since worked to promote LGBTQ+ literature and support the LGBTQ+ publishing community. Through its annual awards, public programs, and networking opportunities, the organization fosters greater recognition, visibility, and appreciation for LGBTQ+ voices and stories.
