The Publishing Triangle is proud to announce that poet and activist Emanuel Xavier joined our board in the fall of 2021.
Emanuel Xavier was named an LGBTQ+ Icon by The Equality Forum and presented a New York City Council Citation Award for his many contributions to NYC arts and culture throughout the years. Xavier has received International Latino Book Awards, Lambda Literary Award nominations, and American Library Association Over the Rainbow Books selections for his collections, which include Pier Queen, Americano, If Jesus Were Gay, Nefarious, Radiance, Selected Poems of Emanuel Xavier and Love(ly) Child. He is the recipient of a Gay City Impact Award and The Marsha A. Gomez Cultural Heritage Award.
“I look forward to providing my unique perspective as a queer author of color,” says Xavier. “I have long valued the importance of sharing stories and reflecting our histories through LGBTQ+ literature. As someone once out on the streets as a homeless gay teen who managed to survive and make his way onto the literary scene, I appreciate this moment as an opportunity to champion our authors and celebrate our books.”
Welcome Emanuel!
